Open-cell spray foam applied to exterior wall cavities in a new-construction Houston home before drywall

The People Who Do the Work

Two names, and what each one is responsible for. The person who writes your scope is on site when the foam goes in.

How it runs

A small company, on purpose

Phantom Foam is owned and run by Cole Moore. The spraying is done in-house rather than handed to a sub, which is the whole reason the written scope and the finished work match.

That matters most in the places nobody checks afterwards. Applied depth is verified with a gauge as the work goes and recorded on the scope sheet, and the crew works in supplied-air respirators with the work area isolated and ventilated. The safety and re-entry page sets out how that is run.

It also means you get a straight answer when the cheaper system is the right one. If your ducts run inside conditioned space, we will tell you that blown-in on the attic floor is the better buy, and we will say it before you have paid anyone.

Who you are dealing with

Cole Moore and Josh Evans

Two names, and what each one owns on your job. The tiles carry a monogram rather than a stock portrait of somebody who does not work here.

Cole Moore

Founder and Owner

Cole founded Phantom Foam and owns the company. Greater Houston work runs through him: he walks the building, writes the scope, and is the person you deal with if anything about the job is wrong.

Responsible forThe written scope you are handed, and the price on it.

Josh Evans

Spray Foam Expert

Josh handles the spray foam side of the work: which system the assembly calls for, how the rig is set for the day's conditions, and the depth that actually goes on the wall.

Responsible forSystem selection, applied depth and how the job runs on site.

The operating model

Four things you can hold a contractor to

These are the questions we would ask about anyone spraying foam in a building we owned, and they are the ones we answer about ourselves. Ask all four of whoever you are considering, and treat a straight answer as the baseline.

  • 01 The spraying is done in-houseThe people who quote the job are involved in the work. Nothing is handed to a sub you have never met.
  • 02 Supplied-air respiratorsWith the work area isolated and ventilated, and a re-entry time given in writing before the day.
  • 03 Depth recorded on the scope sheetVerified with a gauge as the work goes, because applied thickness is what decides whether the job performs.
  • 04 A certificate of insurance on requestTexas leaves insulation contracting outside its statewide licensing system, so insurance is the document that actually tells you something.

Questions

Asked about the company

Cole Moore founded the company and owns it.

Yes. The people who quote the job are involved in the work, and the spraying is done in-house.

Texas leaves insulation contracting outside its statewide licensing system, so insurance is the document that actually tells you something. Ask us for our current certificate of insurance and we will send it, so you can check it yourself.

We will name it on the written scope before anything is ordered, and send you the manufacturer's technical and safety data sheets for it if you ask. A-side and B-side chemistry explains what those documents are describing.
