The region
What makes North Houston & Montgomery County its own market
This is the most varied region we cover. The Woodlands is a premium retrofit market — custom homes from the 1990s and early 2000s with complex rooflines, bonus rooms over garages, multiple HVAC zones and fiberglass that has settled. Every roof transition is a thermal bridge and every bonus room is a complaint.
Around Lake Conroe the problem changes from heat to water. Houses fight indoor humidity that persists while the thermostat reads fine, and a meaningful share of the stock is pier-and-beam or raised, which puts the rim joist back on the table.
Out along FM 1488, FM 1484 and TX-105 it becomes steel. Barndominiums, shops and equipment buildings, where condensation on the underside of a panel is the whole reason for the call. Conroe is the anchor of that work for us.

What we account for here
Every region in Greater Houston shares one climate and brings its own building stock. These are the four things that most often change the specification in North Houston & Montgomery County.
These are what we arrive already expecting. The assessment confirms them on site.
- 01 Complex custom rooflinesValleys, dormers and bonus rooms. Foam follows them; a cut batt has to be forced around them.
- 02 Lake Conroe humidityIndoor damp that persists even when the equipment is keeping up with temperature.
- 03 Barndominiums along the FM roadsSteel shell over living space. Far cheaper before interior framing goes in.
- 04 Pier-and-beam near the waterWhere the rim joist is usually the best-value square footage in the building.

North Houston & Montgomery County questions
Asked in this region
What decides it is what is up there today and where your ducts run. Plenty of houses in that cohort have settled batt and attic ductwork, and that combination behaves the same at twenty years as at fifty.
Regularly — it is the center of that work for us. Closed-cell against the panel is what stops the condensation, and it is much cheaper to do before the interior framing goes in.
The rim joist, usually. It is a small area that leaks badly, and on a raised foundation it is often the highest-value part of the building to seal.
The visit is free. Someone comes out, looks at the building and gives you a written scope and a price, and the decision stays yours.
Texas leaves insulation contracting outside its statewide licensing system, so insurance is the document that actually tells you something. Ask us for our current certificate of insurance and we will send it.
